DO Ribera del Duero

OUR PERFECT COMPANION: RIBERA DEL DUERO

An ally.
A guide along the road

  • For PINEA, the northern Ribera is the natural choice for our purpose: creating signature wines that expand the territory of Ribera itself, based on love for the Tempranillo grape and respect for what this land means but with a desire to seek out new paths. Wherever our sense of direction leads us.

“Ribera del Duero gives us guidelines to respect, Tempranillo brings our heart into it. Then there’s the creativity of our wines. That’s the hallmark of PINEA.”

Vicente Pliego, Founder of Pinea

A GREAT WINE

Reflects a place.

The Ribera del Duero region has witnessed the evolution of wine since the 12th century, accumulating knowledge and know-how about the terroir which, centuries later, has made it one of the world’s wine capitals.

It is the reflection of a history.

For PINEA, terroir is not just the soil in which the things we love grow. Terroir is everything: It is the Pinea Domain, but also the rest of the Ribera: its paths, roads and farms, its villages and the people who live there. Its traditions, its festivals, and the smells and flavours that build the memory of what we are and will be.

It is the reflection of a terroir.

“PINEA is a project with a different style to the classical approach. Its brings a breath of fresh air, expressing the origin of our soils and parcels of land in our wines. We listen to every bit of our soil without overshadowing what nature gives us with over-ripening, excessive ageing or use of wood which would lose the grapes’ characteristics”

David Ayala, Technical Director
