  • The 2021 vintage in Ribera del Duero, particularly in the Burgos area, was characterized by a complex and balanced ripening cycle.
  • After a cold, dry winter, the spring brought well-distributed rains that favored vigorous vegetative development. The summer, with moderate temperatures, allowed for a slow ripening, enhancing the concentration of aromas and freshness in the grapes. The cool nights in September preserved the natural acidity, culminating in a late and selective harvest.
  • This vintage stands out for its elegance, with wines of remarkable depth, structure and exceptionally polished character, a true reflection of PINEA’s terroir.

Tasting notes

Ageing: 2 winters Keep: 20 years

The wine has ruby tones with a violet rim.


On the nose, aromas of black forest fruits and ripe cherries stand out, with hints of vanilla and subtle cedar. Medium-bodied, its texture is elegant and velvety, with a round, deep finish.

The palate reveals balanced acidity and a minerality characteristic of limestone soils. Well-integrated tannins and a long, persistent finish.

Alcoholic content: 14,9º

Own vineyards:
17 is obtained from a large selection of grapes from the 35 hectares that make up the Pinea Estate; a mosaic of nine plots with different soil characteristics, slope, orientation and age.

Harvest by hand:
From October 5 to 13, 2021.

Vinification and aging:
Fermentations are carried out in 10,000-liter stainless steel tanks with initial cold maceration to preserve all the varietal aromas. Once the pre-fermentation phase is completed, temperature-controlled fermentation continues, which favors the extraction of color and polyphenols that give the wine part of its body and complexity.

Aged for 2 winters in French oak barrels, new (40%) and of various uses (60%).

Bottling date: June 9, 2023.

Launch date: November 5, 2024.

Number of bottles: 47,234 bottles of 0.75 L, 748 magnum (1.5 L) and 43 jeroboam (3 L).

Presentation formats:0.75 L, 1.5 L and 3 L

Recommended consumption:
It is ready to be enjoyed as soon as it is in your hands but reaches its best moment approximately 2 years after its release.

We recommend serving it at 16º and allowing it to temper.
