KORDE Tinto 2023
Blend of red and white varieties. DO Ribera del Duero

KORDE Tinto unveils an unparalleled expression of Ribera del Duero, inviting you to rethink everything you thought you knew about this land.

  • From a century-old vineyard and matured in a single 500L barrel, this is a fresh wine, marked by vivid aromas of red berries and citrus, with a vibrant acidity complemented by an exquisitely delicate tannic texture
  • The 2023 growing season began with a relatively mild and dry winter, free of extreme weather events, allowing for an early and even budburst. The vines entered the cycle in good balance after a peaceful dormancy.
  • Spring brought moderate temperatures and well-distributed rainfall, which contributed to regular flowering and healthy bunch development. Vegetative growth progressed in harmony, with good ventilation and overall vineyard health.
  • Summer was warm and dry, marked by significant diurnal temperature shifts. These conditions favoured
a slow and balanced ripening, preserving both the freshness and the natural acidity of the grapes.

On the nose, it shows pronounced intensity, led by fresh red berries with a delicate citrus back-note.

On the palate, it is taut and focused, sustained by a lively acidity that extends its length. The fine, elegant tannins are seamlessly integrated, leaving a lingering sense of purity and freshness.

KORDE Tinto 2023, in detail

Alcoholic content: 13%

Own vineyards:

KORDE Tinto is born from one of our oldest vineyards, officially registered in
1945—though its origins may go back even further.
The plot, known as “La Isa”, lies on an elevated moorland site bordered by almond trees, where a streak
of clay-limestone soil surfaces and lends the terrain its distinctive character.
A traditional coplantación is still preserved here, with red and white varieties interplanted, though Tinta Fina (Tempranillo) predominates.

Manual harvest:
19 September 2023.
To craft KORDE Tinto, we harvest earlier than for our other reds, aiming for a balanced point of ripeness across the different varieties in the vineyard. This approach enhances the freshness and acidity of a wine deeply rooted in the diversity of the Old World.

Vinification and aging:
Fermentation takes place in a small open-top vat, using 50% whole clusters, some of which are gently foot-trodden upon vatting. Only one pump-over is performed during fermentation to limit extraction, and the wine is racked off the skins before fermentation is complete.
Malolactic fermentation occurs in a single 500-litre second-use French oak barrel.
The wine is then aged for two winters.

Pairing | KORDE Tinto

«KORDE Tinto is best paired with light, fresh dishes. A white fish ceviche, for example, beautifully complements the citrus nuances of the wine, while grilled chicken dishes with a red fruit reduction accentuate its elegance and delicate tannic texture. For a more sophisticated experience, I suggest pairing with duck breast or foie gras, which balance the acidity and enhance the fruity aromas. Fresh goat cheeses also offer a perfect match. This pairing will allow KORDE Tinto to unfold all its complexity and subtlety, offering an unparalleled gastronomic experience»
