INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
17 BY PINEA

’17 by Pinea’ celebrates the year 2017, a very important year in the life of our winery due to the major events that took place then, including the commercial debut of our flagship wine, PINEA.
’17’ reflects the careful attention to detail in viticulture that characterizes our winery; by aging in American and French oak barrels, the Tempranillo grapes express a sense of origin that is a worthy reflection of the Ribera del Duero.
DESCRIPTION
’17 by Pinea’ is a wine of vibrant color, clean and of medium-high intensity. A full-bodied and creamy wine that shows a perfect balance between fruit and toast from oak barrels, which gives it freshness and at the same time structure and intensity.
A 100% Tempranillo red wine, elegant and with a long and persistent finish. The personality of the Ribera del Duero and the passion of its craftsmen are reflected in every sip of 17.

2019
A warm year with little climatic variation resulted in very healthy fruit. The cooler days of harvesting allowed us to better control the temperature of the incoming grapes prior to fermentation. Grapes were selected and hand-picked in 14kg crates in the vineyard. Once in the winery, we carried out a second selection of grapes, keeping only the best clusters.
2018
The first buds of the 2018 vintage arrived a little later than normal. A year earlier we had experienced one of the biggest frosts in Ribera del Duero in living memory, which forced us at the beginning of 2018 to double our work in our vineyards when the plant revives and begins its cycle, taking great care in the formation of branches.
A frank and complex wine. Fruity aromas from the first contact, fresh and cheerful tones with a fine thread of vanilla and forest berries, somewhat ripe. Subtle at first contact, expressive and cheerful.

2017
The key weather event was the spring frost that affected the whole region, mostly during April. This fact complicated work in the fields during the summer as well as canopy management, however, despite this weather challenge, the size and quantity were adequate and the grapes were harvested with a very high level of quality. The yields were lower than in other vintages, but this concentrated the potential and quality of the grapes.
2015
Favorable weather conditions allowed the harvest to be picked at the peak of its ripeness. Despite the dates being a little earlier than usual, the analytical data and tasting characteristics indicated that the fruit was perfectly balanced, ideal for producing an excellent vintage. The grapes arrived at the winery in a dry, healthy condition, thanks to the good weather and lack of rains. The yields were low, which led to higher quality grapes
