PINEA 2019
100% Tempranillo. DO Ribera del Duero
«Rich notes of fresh, loamy earth, dried sage and dark chocolate on the nose transition to underscore the palate’s plump cherry and dried raspberry fruit, singed orange peel and licorice favors. Integrating thick tannins and ‘balsamico’ acidity, this is plush and extracted in style, with a creamy, spiced finish»
Alison Napjus (Wine Spectator)

- The 2019 vintage was marked by a mild winter with little rainfall, a rare phenomenon in the region. Fortunately, the generosity of rainfall in the previous vintage allowed the vines to conserve water reserves, which encouraged optimal development throughout the vine cycle.
- The process began with a slightly early bud break, followed by uniform and promising flowering. The weather remained dry, contributing to exceptional health in the vineyards.
- Veraison, which began in early August, saw uniform berry growth and prolonged and satisfactory ripening. At the end of the month there were some heavy storms, but these rains caused a slight delay in ripening, resulting in a later harvest compared to previous years.
- The quality of the grapes received exceeded all expectations, which allowed for a smooth and continuous harvest.

DescúbreloPairing | Pinea

“To achieve the best pairing with Pinea, it’s best if you can understand where it comes from. The climatic differences of La Ribera and its complex, austere soils provide different products of the highest quality, with great flavour, all year round. That’s why this long-aged wine understands and conveys that sense of place and can accompany traditional suckling lamb chops roasted on a wood fire; spicy stews made with game, local cereals and vegetables; soft goat cheeses with reduction of figs; and caramelised pine nuts with aniseed. The descriptors and textures of these foods simply reflect the subtle touches this wine carries with it.” Andrés Vignoni, Consultant Winemaker at PINEA
